His mother did not live to see his success. He felt it would have changed her life economically because he grew up poor.
He is known as one of the best actors of all time along with DeNiro and many of the New York actors who began their careers on stage.
He was homeless and struggled as he worked various low paying jobs until he had his break on the stage. He is best known for his role as Michael Corleone in the Godfather Saga.
